In Dallas, many people must travel considerable distances to buy food from supermarkets in the neighborhoods where they are easily accessible.
Rae’s Hope teaches girls nutritional values and their importance, so they can develop healthy eating habits at an early age for a healthier future.
The girls learn about whole foods and healthy eating within the the MyPlate plan and how it can impact their quality of life as youths into adulthood.
As part of a well-balanced, regular diet and a healthy, active lifestyle, a high intake of fruit and vegetables can improve many health measures, including lower cholesterol, lower blood pressure, and more.
Since being in Rae’s Hope my daughter’s confidence has boosted a lot. She is communicating with others. She converses a lot with us at home and at school. Her physical fitness still needs work, but she loves to play volleyball with her friends and us at home. Her relationship with us is great and with others at school as well. Her attitude is up and down and we are working on controlling it. She is doing good in school even though she has her days, but since being a part of Rae’s Hope she has opened up a lot and is becoming her own person.
